Hot Police continue Shooting form, as First Bank,Dolphins remain unbeaten.



Status quo continued in Day 1 of Phase 2 of the Zenith Bank Female Basketball league holding in Ilorin Township Stadium, Kwara State.

Top scorer in the first phase in Abuja, Inspector General of Police Queens Christina Issac who averaged 26.7 points per game continued from where she left off as she dropped 25 points in the IGP Queens 56-22 points victory against new comers Nassarawa Amazons in the curtain raiser of the exciting female basketball fiesta in the ancient city of Ilorin.
 
Defending champions First Bank basketball club also had a light walk of Oluyole Babes of Ibadan by 67-23 thanks to 4 tyime MVP Nkechi Akashili’s 21 points and Lynette Atieno 10 points and 4 rebounds. And it was same of the same for last season’s runner up Dolphins Basketball club of Lagos who beat GT200 of Kaduna 65-26 to ensure their unbeaten streaks  in the 2015 season continues.

In other results, former champions First Deepwater needed late 15-0 run in the 3rd quarter to come from behind to defeat Plateau Peaks 39-29. While the Sunshine Angles and AHIP Queens dominated from start to finish in their wins 56-42 and 42-17 over Taraba Hurricanes and Immigration respectively. The Nigerian Customs also proved to be a team to lookout for as they whitewashed Coal City Queens 70-7 while the flamboyant Delta Force welcomed back Ogoh Bolum who nailed 9points from behind the arc to finish with 11 points on their way to an emphatic 72-23 points win over FCT Angels.



Day 2: Dolphins Extend winning Streak to 2-0 as First Bank and Sushine Angels Showdown at 5pm

Dolphins continued to underline their title credentials dismissing weeping girls in Group B Coal City Queens 75-12. D'Tigeress invitee Juliet Currency put up a shooting clinic scoring 4/8 from behind the arc to finish with 26 points and fellow guard Amaka Nwakamma added 19 points in the one sided affair at the Ilorin Township Stadium. Dolphins are now unbeaten in 9 games so far and topping their group with maximum 20 points from Phase one in Abuja.

In other results already decided, Delta Force was too much for newcomers  Zamfara Babes, as they blew them 81-18 while Benue Princess came from behind to beat Immigration 41-29.

Later this evening, defending championship First Bank basketball club will face off with old foes Sunshine Angels of Akure, while Nasarawa Amazon will be gunning for their 3rd win of the season and their 1st win in Ilorin, as they take on high flying Customs. Former 4 time champion, First Deepwater also takes on Taraba Hurricanes while FCT Angels and IGP Queens battle in the final game of the day
