Siblings raised by a retired referee officiated Nfpl Match 34 fixture



It was indeed a family affair recently when two brothers and a sister officiated the NPFL week 34 fixture between El-Kanemi Warriors and FC IfeanyiUbah in Maiduguri.

National Daily gathered that the siblings, Stephen Terfa, Ephraim Shagba and their sister, FIFA badged referee Mimisen Iyorhe were in charge of the match that ended 2-0 in favour of the home side.

National Daily who had a chat with their brother,Luther Iyorhe  Lobi Stars fc of Benue State  said that his two elder brothers and sister are  referees have been raised by their mother, Mrs. Grace Iyorhe a retired referee and former chairman of the Benue State Referees Council.

Luther added that an elated Mimisen took to Facebook immediately after the match in Maiduguri to pour encomiums on their mother for nurturing them and ensuring they achieved their dreams in football refereeing.

His elder sister wrote  on her facebook wall , “Today I write this piece in honour of my mum, Mrs Grace Nguyemen Iyorhe, Nee Asuwe.

Today your dream in refereeing came to pass in Maiduguri, where your first child, Stephen Terfa Iyorhe watched the technical area and your fourth, now third child, Mimisen Iyorhe assisted your last child, Ephraim Shagba Iyorhe to successfully handle the game between El Kanemi Warriors FC, Maiduguri and FC Ifeanyi Uba, Nnewi.

“Only God knows what you passed through to nurture us to this stage and only He will bless you and make His face to shine on you.

“This record you have created amongst the many others is to show the world that dedication, humility and the right attitude with God on your side is equal to success.”
