The Chelsea legend is impressed with how Manchester United are shaping up under Jose Mourinho
Frank Lampard believes Manchester United are starting to look like a Jose Mourinho title-winning team.
The Red Devils were emphatic 4-0 winners against Everton at Old Trafford on Sunday thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Antonio Valencia.
Manchester United moved level on points with Premier League leaders Manchester City thanks to their resounding win against the Toffees at the Theatre of Dreams.
Mourinho’s side have already kept four clean sheets in the Premier League this season in victories over West Ham, Swansea, Leicester City and Everton.
The Red Devils have also scored 16 goals in five top-flight outings after summer signing Lukaku hit the ground running with five goals since his £75m move.
Former Chelsea legend Lampard believes Manchester United are starting to shape up as a team capable of winning the Premier League title this season.
“They are certainly contenders in the Premier League,” Lampard told BT Sport. “They’ve made a good start. They’re very strong. They’re very Mourinho-esque.”
“Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson steered the Red Devils to their 13th top-flight crown.
Mourinho led the Red Devils to glory in the EFL Cup and the Europa League last season, although Manchester United had to settle for sixth place in the Premier League table.
