Ahead of the commencement of the new campaign in the 2017/2018 football season, Nigeria Nationwide League campaigners, SKE FC of Port Harcourt has set a date for it's resumption.
In a statement issued by the club's CEO, Mr. Kingsley Olisa, indicates that the young enterprising side, will get things underway on the 6th of November 2017 at the Training Pitch of the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt.
" We will resume on the 6th of November 2017 to enable us intensify preparations for the upcoming season because we can't afford to kick start our season behind time." said Olisa
He also stated that invitations have been extended to players that should turn-up on the said date.
" After a thorough evaluatuion of our performance in the out gone season, we've retained 20 out of 40 registered players. Equally, invitations was extended to youthful and vibrant set of players ranging between the age of 16-19 years because we believe in grooming this youngstars knowing fully well that talent and quality has no age limit." Olisa concluded
Meanwhile, the Technical Crew comprising of Head Coach, Ikechukwu Uwakwe that led the Port Harcourt based side during the course of last season were retained. The Port Harcourt based side narrowly lost out in the play-off fixture against Obingwa FC of Owerri at the Umuahia Township Stadium in the 2017 Pipul TV Nationwide League, Division Two, after emerging as table toppers in Group C1 ahead of Ben Ayade FC
