Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) will kick-start the Bet9ja Nigeria National League (NNL) season on Saturday 28th of April, 2018 with a mission to return to topflight football when they travel to faceoff with Osun United at the Oshogbo Township stadium in Osun State.
Both sides will renew their Southwest rivalry after the Sky Blue Stars dropped to the lower division to fight for instant promotion with the Omoluabi giants who have been in the competition for a while.
The Sky Blue Stars will be without the Captain of the side Oshobe Shuji and Afolabi Abiodun due to injury while Awoyemi Abiodu will be out of the game due to illness.
Technical Adviser of Remo Stars FC, Fatai Osho is filled with optimism ahead of the commencement of the 2017/2018 Nigeria National League (NNL) season and he says the club's aim is to return to the NPFL.
"Our plan is like any other team in the league, it will not be different because if you are playing in that league (NNL), the ultimate thing is to get to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and we are quite aware of that. I believe we have had the best of preparation and ultimately we want to play in the NPFL because we believe that is where we belong."
"Osun United is equally a good side but if we get a good result against them, it will build the confidence of the team and put us in a good step to actually achieve what we intend to achieve in the league." Osho said.
