Delta Stars of Ughelli have resumed training ahead of the second half of the 2017/2018 Nigeria National League, NNL, campaign.
New Head Coach, Daniel Ochei, and Assistant Coach, Taju Lamidi, had a full house on their first training session with the team at the main bowl of the Ughelli Township Stadium.
The exercise started with fitness walk and minor tactical game (five-against-three) subsequently, before the group was split into Team A and Team B.
Speaking on their response to the exercise, Head Coach, David Ochei, commended the players for actively turning up for the session.
Coach Ochei stated that this is a pointer to the players’ willingness to win, as preparations will intensify for the second stanza of the NNL season.
He said, “It is encouraging. They have all responded very well by turning up early enough for training this morning.”
“It seems they are highly prepared mentally and ready to move on and consolidate on the gains of the first half of the season.”
The former Delta Queens tactician stated, “We are ready to make sacrifices and I enjoin the players to continue work hard in training.”
In their separate chats, General Manager of the club, Stanley Olokpa, and Assistant Coach, Taju Lamidi, equally praised the players for their response to the side’s first training exercise before the start of the second half of the NNL campaign.
Delta Stars will begin their campaign in the other half of the season with a mouth-watering double header against the Oga Boys, Ikorodu United.
