The Harmony Boys approached todays match with total determination and resilience right from the blast of the whistle till the end of the encounter.

Today's game provides an opportunity for a total revenge of 1-0 humiliation of the Harmony Boys on 4 March, 2018, match day 11 of Nigeria Professional Football League [NPFL]. The loan goal came from Obaroakpo Austin at 52' in a game dominated by the Harmony Boys. It became obvious to me that Elephant meets is on sale only because the Elephant fell victim to a tragedy. The dark period is gone for good.

Bala's boys took the bull by the horns to make a categorical statement that they are in Lagos for a purpose.

Segun Alebiosu despite missing some scoring chances has the first hat trick of the tournament, an amazing performance from Segun.

Samsudeen Hashimu,  a sensational but purposeful dribbler entertained the crowd and assisted his team disterblized the defense of Abia Warriors. He also hit the back of the net at the 36' of the encounter.

The boys exhibited individual talents and equally played as a team to the admiration of the spectators.

Coach Abubakar Bala has established himself in Agege, Lagos with his high sense of humility, hard work, magnanimity and devotion to duty. I personally see these as contributing factors to his successes, I also think it worth emulation.

Pertinent to say that every worth while achievement is the result of a monomaniac with mission. The Harmony Boys played with balanced equilibrium and the result is obvious.

The first match of the tournament was between Kano Pillars and Rivers United, it ended 3-2 in favour of Kano Pillars. Masu Gida came from a goal down to win the encounter. The match produced three penalties,  one for Rivers United, Two for Kano Pillars.

Total of eleven goals were scored in day one of the competition. Four of the goal are penalty kicks.

Tomorrow is rest day,  actions resume on Wednesday 26 September, 2018. The first game will be between Abia Warriors and Kano Pillars, while Kwara United will engage River United from 4pm. Don't miss out.
