Born on the 6th of January into a family of five, in Harcourt, Rivers State, Rico slim started singing at the tender age of 9, singing soprano in the Anglican church classical choir. He started writing songs at an early age. Schooled in rivers state, Anambra state, and Ogun states. now resides in Lagos after graduating with a BSC degree in Economics.
Ricoslim is young, nu and fresh into the Nigerian music scene with a unique sound which he likes to call 'Naija pop'. For those of you who were present at Julius Agwu's Laff 4 Christ's Sake 2009, at the Muson Centre Lagos, he stepped on the stage with people wondering who he was, as he performed alongside other heavy weight acts like midnight crew and mike Aremu. But the youngster thrilled the audience so much that his tune was on everyone’s lips, humming as they left the hall.
He has singles presently on air in like tomorrow, gospel swagg, and the astonishing pure freestyle track which we love so much- Wise Up. He is also working on other hot nu tracks, like the recently internet leaked-WEIGHTLESS, off his upcoming album. The track is tru the roof crazy, but he explains that 'it is not finished!'.
Although the artist is young, his stage presence and 'Swagpetoire' is so good that churches label him a 'Christertainer', while most Lagos radio houses simply call him, a mad man. He has also performed Countlessly in Covenant University, Blaze Concert Abuja, Akure, Herald the King Abuja and recently in Accra, Ghana at the African Reagent, and has acquired a massive fan base there, especially among students of the university of Ghana, legon.
Ricoslim, although presently unsigned, is working on his album titled-MOST WANTED. He says he is waiting for the right label to take him where he's sure he in turn could get them to. He intends to go international with the album, and promises that it will completely blow our minds.
His name is RICO SLIM, and we can only wait, after all they say-save the best for last.
