FIRST LADY SENDS BEST WISHES TO EAGLETS
... As Governor Imoke hits Al-Ain
The First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency Dame Patience Goodluck
Jonathan has sent her best wishes to the Golden Eaglets at the 2013
UAE FIFA Under-17 World Cup.
The message of solidarity was delivered to the team’s officials at
their Dinat Resort Hotel Friday evening ahead of their opening game
against defending champions Mexico on Saturday by His Excellency,
Ibrahim Auwalu, Nigeria’s Ambassador to the UAE who visited the team
alongside some members of his family.
“I’m delighted to be here on behalf of Her Excellency, to ascertain
how well you are coping as well as getting ready for your first game
against Mexico on Saturday,” he said.
“In fact, the First Lay said I should inform you that she is expecting
you, her children to go all out and do the country proud.
“I want you to pass on her message to the players because I don’t want
to disturb them since they are resting now.”
Ambassador Auwalu would later informed that the Golden Eaglets’
Number 1 supporter, Senator Liyel Imoke , the Executive Governor of
Cross River State (CON) will arrive Dubai in the early hours of
Saturday en route to Al Ain to cheers the Golden Eaglets to victory
against Mexico.
Said he: “Again I want o assure you that Nigerians including
President Goodluck Jonathan (GCFR) believe in this team and tomorrow
(Saturday), Governor Imoke would be here with his entourage to support
the team.”
Golden Eaglets’ Team Administrator, Mr. Tayo Egbaiyelo seized the
opportunity to thank the amiable Ambassador for finding time out of
his busy schedule to visit the team as well as his assistance since
the team arrival about three weeks ago in the Gulf Emirates.
