THE REMOVAL OF SUBSIDY HAS INCREASE PRICES OF EVERYTHING

Sunday removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government, transport fares and prices of commodity has been jerked up in the country. A survey in some States in the Country.
Starting with Kogi State carried out by residents revealed that prices of commodity and transport fare have been increased dramatically up to more than 150 percent in some areas.
For example, a journey from Kabba, to Lokoja the State Capital, a one –hour drive which used to cost N4OO is now N1000, While Okene to Lokoja used to be N300 is now N600, even Okada riders have also increase their fare with 200 percent .Okada now between N70 to N80 per drop instead of the usual N40 per drop .
Also in Owerri to Lagos, that is used to be N3000 in Owerri to Lagos ,that is used to be N3000 or N3500 is now N10,000.while the a drop by Cab has gone up 1oo percent inter city services have become a night mare following the astronomical hike by commercial drivers.
According to resident a journey from Owerri to Orlu and Okigwe which previously ranged between N150 to N200 respectively is now between N500 to N600 while at the state capital, a drop is now N100 as against N50
Commuters and motorist have begun to limit their movements, just as petrol filling stations are gradually being deserted by motorists because of the new the pump price of the fuel which ranges from N140:00 per liter to N160 in some filling stations.

Jos transportation fare have gone up about 100 percent in Jos,plateau state capital following the removal of fuel subsidy, even as filling stations in the state are now selling at N141 and N142 per litre.
Taxi fare that was formerly N50 per drop has gone up to N100 per drop, while commercial motorcycle operators have began to between N70 and N100 for distance for which N40 and N50 were formerly charged.

The situation has forced Taxi drivers to increase the transportation fare per drop from N30 to N70 depending on the distance. It is also same experience at most of motor park visited fare to Lagos from Akure has been increased from N1250 to N2500.Also transport fare from Akure to Lagos, which was originally N700 has been jacked up to N1700 .When asked a petrol attendant said how much is the current price of the petrol which is sold for N140 and N150.

How ever, the commodity has increase in price too, Vegetable that is formerly sold N50 is now N100.Rice that is sold for N150 is now N200, pure water sold for N5 is now N10 per search,De Rica cup of beans is sold for N130 is now N160 while the same cup of Garri that is used to be sold for N100 is now N150.
