At ProjectAlert Vaw media launch of the revised/ updated version of SEXUAL VIOLENCE IN NIGERIA: A SlLENT EPIDEMIC which took place at our office today.
An analysis of 1110 cases reported at Mirabel Centre (the first sexual assault referral Centre in Nigeria) reveals that 98% of the victims who reported are females. 77% of the victims were children ages 0-17. Alimosho LGA in Lagos had the largest number of sexual assault victims. THIS IS AN URGENT CALL TO ACTION BY GOVERNMENTS AT ALL LEVELS
