Team Anambra will draw inspiration and hope to better their Day 1 performance when they file out to participate today in 11 events at the 5th National Youth Games happening at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN). Team Anambra will feature in table tennis, boxing, basketball, chess, cricket, handball, taekwondo, scrabble, volleyball (beach), volleyball and football.
Team Anambra have so far won two medals at the games; bronze medal in Gymnastics for vault performance by 8-year-old Stephanie Onusiriuka and a gold medal in Judo 44kg class by Chiamaka Ofiaeli.
In the event for today, The female football team will play Akwa Ibom by 2pm at the Maracana I stadium for what will be tagged the fight for bronze medal, the male side will trade tackles with their Lagos based counterpart by 8.30am. In handball, Team Anambra male and female sides will be turbocharged for action when they play Borno state male and female teams this morning.
Other individual and team events will know their respective opponents in time leading to their games.
