DIRTY POLICE BARRACK

police barrack

Dirty  Police Barrack
Walking around Police barracks in Lagos State is like driving on refugee ground, the state of the environment is nothing to write home about. Recently when National Daily visited Police Barrack close to Area C Police Station in Surulere the place was looking disguising according to our investigation every corner was very dirty, scary pictures of building like it will fall off in no time, the roof were looking worn out and where People who are in charge of securing Lives and Property live is an eyesore to the Country.
Someone Who has a shop in front of the Barrack said that the attitude of these men and women in black and the kind of environment they live in is affecting them big time . A Police officer who spoke with our reporter without his knowledge of him talking to a press lady said that the condition of the Barrack is a big shame to the Federal Government, what is the essence of having Policemen and their families stay within the Barracks yet the place is not maintained,it doesn't make sense.
A Top Police officer's wife who doesn't want her name to be mentioned said that the reasons why we live in the barrack together is because we feel at home, it's insane for a policeman to refer that dirty environment home. According to her, the funds for Maintaining all the Barracks, just one man will keep it to him as a top official, our barrack is an unpleasant place to live in . A visit to Mopol 2 Barrack near Lagos Police Command headquarters ,GRA ikeja too is also in a bad state which have been left unmaintained for a long time. A passer by said some of these policemen and women are very dirty," he said. "Do they expect President Jonathan or IGP Mohammed Abubakar to come and clean up Barrack for them.
Views of People who had foe once live in the Police Barrack; like Chris Tarela who lived in an Army Barrack at Badagry said that is the place future miscreants are raise, very dirty, and far from been organised in any sense. Money for the maintenance is perpetually embezzled. Rita Okezie a resident who lives in the Police said that she is so ashamed of her family living in that kind of cracking building since her father has been in the service over 15years now,the Federal Government doesn't care about them. Tony Enny said the police Barracks is an eyesore to start with, the buildings are dilapitated and basic facilities and basic amenities is seriously lacking, its just an irony that the men and women we entrust with our lives and property don't just have a good shelter to reside in after serving their fatherland sometimes even costing them their lives in the process. PRO told national daily that Government ready to start renovation on all the Barrack, but this already the 6th month ,no change yet.
