Former Coach of Warri Wolves speaks about-- age cheating among players

Fuludu Edema speaking with National Daily from Warri he said that with the way thing are going at the moment I think there is considerable improvement in the Nigeria premier league clubs in terms of money invested on players and general awareness.

He also added that but real development in making clubs become assets is very poor. The clubs lack root for continuity and as for Grassroots football, too many untrained coaches abound and so tutoring young players becomes increasingly difficult because of lack of know-how.

He also stated that there must be conscious effort in policy formulation to make qualified and competent coaches take charge of Grass root football or we train and retrain the current hands who are ready.

He expressed that age cheating will gradually be eliminated if statistics and players information from primary to secondary schools are strictly monitored through comprehensive data bank. ICT is not new again

Secondly strict sanctions on erring coaches/players/administrators. They are no longer with Warri Wolves and I am also no longer coach of the team. However it’s a privilege for any player to be invited to the national team so am happy for them.
Finally, he explained that an opportunity to play for your country does not make anybody the best its pure chance especially in a populated country like Nigeria with so many talents. As chairman Delta state football league management board and so happy that my former players being part of the 25 lists of Stephen Keshi
