We lack sponsorship --- disabled tennis coach

By ESTHER EGBE
He is disabled, but he is the N0. 2 in lawn tennis in Nigeria and coach of disabled tennis players at the National Stadium in Surulere.
Ewezie, who trains mostly female disable players, said he was born and brought up in Lagos State, and that he loved the game right from age three and has been following up the game since then. Even in primary school, he was already playing for the school team.
He revealed that he has been playing for many years now, having represented Nigeria and Lagos State for different competitions and tournament. It was after he came back from Turkey that he took a coaching course, and he is now a coach.
He explained that the only challenge they are facing as disable people is sponsorship. “As I am talking now, we have a tournament in the United States. I and my colleagues are supposed to represent Nigeria and also Kenya.”
According to him, “we are still looking for sponsorship to help us make the country proud again and get our title. Unfortunately, the Ministry of Sports has neglected us, maybe because we are disabled.”
