'A person dressed in white is noticeable both day and night' so also is the presence of Prince Oladimeji Ladi Thomson, Club President is felt positively each time he came to watch his boys train.
Despite his tight schedule and never ending round of activities, with great enthusiasm, he watched today's training with Mallam Ibrahim Bako, secretary, Mr. Oke M. Jimoh, Team Manager and some of the stakeholders.
Immediately after the training, the Club Secretary led the President and others to the side of the field, the secretary briefly formerly announced the presence of the President.
The President told the players that they made him a proud person, "I want you to know that the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed was happy with the result, so were all government functionaries, the governor has therefore reaffirmed to fulfill all his promises in respect of your welfare. It is not my own making, but through your efforts"
He went further, "If an issue is not brought to a rapid conclusion, some incidental development might take advantage of the delay, so I have come to let you know that your welfare is of great priority, in that respect everything we discussed as per prompt payment of salary, match bonuses and the rest remain as agreed upon; the little delay this time has to do with the expected allocation."
"Because we appreciate your indomitable spirit, most especially in our last game against Kano Pillars prompted us to effect the 'over bloated rise in match bonus' which will continue henceforth. Now you will appreciate that the beauty of circumcision is paid for in pain and pang. Let me also tell you that match bonuses will be made available before any of our matches, that of Sunshine and Enyimba are sourced for already, it is now pay as you go"
Coach Abubakar Bala Mohammed, appreciate the emotional attachment of His Excellency, Dr. Alhaj Abdulfatah Ahmed for the financial aids, the management, for their commitment and diligence, the players, for their resilience, dedication and determination and most importantly, the good people of the state for their unalloyed love and passion for game of soccer. He concluded by telling the President that "Sir your efforts are well appreciated but we will not hesitate to knock again and again when the need arises to ask".
Onigbari Akeem acknowledged the efforts of everyone most especially that of his colleagues for living up to their words "Sir you would recall that we did promise to give you victory after seeing the immediate gift of 200,000k, just encrypt anything with money, we will decode it. We thank Almighty Allah for the massive victory."
A sigh of relief as the face of the President was seen. Remove the match box from the farmhouse and everybody would have to make do with raw plantain for supper.
